Core thesis
Every concentration of power generates counter-forces. Every governing system faces Gödel-shaped walls. Every attempt to organize computationally irreducible agents generates reaction. Every civilizational arc follows recognizable rise-and-fall patterns. These aren’t coincidences — they’re the same structural principle at different scales.

- Convergent Interests — Coordination Without Collusion — Chris’s thesis: “you don’t have to collude when like interests align.” Parties with different terminal goals sharing one proximate objective, each acting in its own narrow interest, produce an outcome that looks designed with no designer, no meeting, no foresight and no defector problem — and, uniquely, participants who can be genuinely surprised by the result, which is the row a conspiracy account cannot survive. Not a debunking device: it explains more of the pattern than conspiracy (it scales where conspiracy leaks), explains the rupture when the shared objective expires, and survives the participants’ denials without requiring them to be lying. Supplies the positive half of Absolutes and Differentials’s pattern ≠ intent guard, which previously carried only a prohibition. The discriminator is borrowed from antitrust, which litigated this exact problem: Theatre Enterprises v. Paramount (1954) held parallel conduct alone does not establish agreement (conscious parallelism), and the courts’ plus-factor test yields the general diagnostic — did anyone act against their own independent self-interest?
